The ball itself is a special event for the cadets to attend without parents. Parents are welcome to take photos beforehand on Nimocks Quad and encouraged to watch the processional of Senior cadets through the arches on Mclendon Quad. The Goomba Grill is available for parents to wait if needed until the ball is over.  Coffee and water will be available.
  • What if my cadet doesn’t have a date?

Several young ladies will register to attend without escorts and we encourage a “meet and greet” near the check-in area.  In addition, the cadets and ladies are seated randomly but amongst each other and connections can be made during dinner.

If your cadet is a SENIOR, a young lady will be chosen by Col Lee to walk with him through the sword arch (unless he asks a young lady on his own during meet & greet).  It is up to them if they proceed to sit together at dinner.  They are free to disconnect before entering the dining area if they choose.
  • What if my cadet’s date is providing her own transportation –how does she find him?

There is a scheduled drop off location and time for them to connect (see agenda). Of course, if she needs to arrive earlier or has her own vehicle, they can pre-arrange meeting details on their own to meet on campus.
  • If a young lady is traveling from out of town, is there a place for her to change into her gown?

While it is strongly encouraged to make personal arrangements with a friend, or at a hotel you may be staying at, we can definitely assist for extreme circumstances. A small private dressing area (including mirror, bathroom and electrical outlets) will be secured and your request can be sent to jgailey@riversidemilitary.com
